The Meinl 12" Byzance Extra Dry Splash Cymbal is a unique, esoteric splash cymbal that offers new, creative possibilities to any drummer. As the name suggests, this cymbal has an extra-short sustain and has a dark and gritty sound.
It has a colorful range of overtones with a drier middle-high range, leaving a combination that creates a sound that has elements of a trash-splash, but is still distinctly a splash cymbal. The actual "splash" part of the sound blends well with smaller crash cymbals and other washier cymbals, meaning it can be seamlessly integrated into cymbal setups which intend to cover a wide range of frequencies and sounds.
This dark and dry splash is thin, with a raw finish that looks how the metal sounds, and is made from B20 bronze. It is not a lathed cymbal, made only with hammering. This cymbal is perfect for jazz, funk, R&B, or genres which make use of electric sounds and synths.
