Put together with the help of Rodney Holmes, the Meinl 14" Byzance Dark Spectrum Hi Hat Cymbals have a uniquely dark tone that sounds earthy, deep, and silky. When closed, stick sounds are crisp and moody. When open, the hats give off a little more mid-range overtones to get some sound out.
The look of these hats is pretty unique as well, with concentric circles of lathing balanced by sections of raw, unfinished bronze. Every inch has been meticulously hammered, as well. While not as bright as many hats, these cymbals would sound great in music that is a little more moody.
