The Grover Pro BDM-4A Ultra Staccato Bass Drum Mallet features a 5/8" aluminum shaft that adds weight, giving you a punchier stroke and making it easier for you to activate the low fundamental overtones of a large concert bass drum head.
This mallet is made with a solid maple core covered in hand-sewn German felt. The core's oblong shape contacts more of the head than a round head will, providing additional richness and density to each stroke.
The Ultra Staccato model is very hard to deliver extreme amounts of attack and articulation on a concert bass drum, while still maintaining some warmth to the contact sound because of the felt covering.
