The Grover Pro BDM-DA-1 Legato/Staccato Dual-Headed Bass Drum Mallet features a 5/8" aluminum shaft that adds weight, giving you a punchier stroke and making it easier for you to activate the low fundamental overtones of a large concert bass drum head.
This mallet is made with a solid maple cores covered in hand-sewn German felt. The cores' oblong shape contacts more of the head than a round head will, providing additional richness and density to each stroke.
The dual-headed design of this mallet allows you to play in multiple styles when there's no time to do a mallet switch. The legato side is excellent for rich, isolated attacks, while the staccato side gives you more articulation when rhythms need to be clearly heard.
