This claw comes stock on Pearl Symphonic and Philharmonic Concert Bass Drums. It grabs the edge of the counterhoop, pulling it against the head when used in conjunction with a tension rod (not included).
A rubber gasket on the inner surface of the claw prevents damage to the hoop and keeps any unwanted rattles from happening.
