At 18.3 pounds, this brass snare drum is HEAVY. It's no wonder, with the 3mm solid brass shell that gives this drum much more power than a typical brass drum. This drum also includes several of DW's high-end features, including:
- MAG Throwoff - A magnet keeps the throw locked in the engaged position, while just a slight tug will completely release it. Tension is easily adjusted with the horizontal knob.
- 3P Butt Plate - toggle between three different tension settings for different musical situations
- Heads - includes an Ambassador clear-crimped snare head and an Ambassador coated-crimped batter head with tuning marks, both single ply.
- Tru-Tone Snares - 20 strands of stainless steel coil with brass endplates
- Tru-Tone Hoops - 3.0mm, heavy, round, and flat with a rounded outer edge for head dampening and stick protection
- Stainless Steel Rods - these tension rods are made from extremely strong stainless steel, and have more threading than a typical rod for greater grip and less tuning loss.
