The Meinl 13" Headliner Nile Series Rope Tuned Djembe features a very nice, organic hand-carved Mahogany shell that is meant to inspire the look of the mighty Nile river in Africa. The drum has been harvested from a single piece of plantation-grown Mahogany wood.
Across the top you'll find a hand-selected goat skin head that produces that authentic tone you're looking for in a hand drum such as this. Its tension is held using pre-stretched nylon ropes that fasten down the head in the traditional Mali-weave fashion.
