Meinl Doumbeks come from the same geographical points of origin as darbukas, and are a favorite choice of drum for percussionists worldwide. This goblet-shaped drum features an ergonomic, Egyptian-style rounded rim well suited for fast finger rolls.
This 6" x 12" model is smaller than normal, giving you higher tuning possibilities for extremely bright "deks" that give this drum the second half of its name. The synthetic head can be tuned via internal tuning lugs, sitting on top of a bearing edge carefully machined to assure consistent tuning.
The aluminum shell of this doumbek is lightweight but capable of projecting sound very loudly. Artistic etchings make the drum worthy as a piece of art, while giving you a little extra grip.
