LP's Okonkolo Bata Drum features a rather unique hourglass-shaped design. This instrument is traditionally used in Cuban sacred and secular music, sort of a cousin to the much more well-known conga drum. Each bata drum is really two drums in one - a big, and a small!

The strong Siam oak shell gets thicker as the diameter gets smaller to increase strength and boost the sound of the higher drum.

This Okonkolo features an extended large side, which helps boost the deep bass tones. This design also shortens the small end, which accentuates the high notes!
