The Meinl Taku Hirano Hand Bale solves a problem for hand percussionists - now you can have your timbale sound and still play congas too! It's impossible to quickly go back and forth between congas and bongos to normal timbales (which need sticks), but that is all in the past.
Half of the rim on this drum is up like a standard timbale rim, but the other have has been recessed, letting you smack it with your hands to get that crisp, twangy timbale sound using only your fingertips. The sound resonates nicely because of the steel shell.
The Hand Bale is tuned using the included L-shaped tuning key, and can be mounted to any 3/8" rod. Tune up oil is also included.
