This piece of hardware physically travels through the shell of the drum. If you are adding the Internal Tone Control System to a drum that did not have one previously, you will need to drill two different sized holes into your shell.
Attach this Ludwig Internal Tone Control System to any drum and you'll be able to adjust the amount of ring coming from the top head with a turn of the knob. Turn the knob to the right and the felt disc rises, pushing up against the head and removing ringing overtones.
All necessary mounting components are included.
