This 3.5" pad mounts firmly to any 3/8" rod and is usable in any musical situation, not just the football field. Just attach a 3/8" rod to your instrument and you're ready to go! When practice time is over, the pad easily comes off the rod and stores away in any small pocket.
The rehearsal pad comes most in handy during those long periods of "hurry up and wait" in between the last practice run and the actual performance. It's pretty silly to let your chops cool down right before they really matter, and this pad keeps your wrists and fingers revved up.
