The Meinl Bahia Wood Surdos are made to celebrate the Cuban/Jamaican style of music known as Samba-Reggae. Each surdo is cut shorter than its Rio counterpart and is typically worn much lower, on a belt. Meinl offers three sizes, including two great sounding
fundos and a higher
third-surdo. The six-ply wooden shells offer a warmer sound than an aluminum shell. This Bahia surdo also includes chrome-plated hardware, countersunk bolt heads, and a tuning key.
