Promark's SPYR Series is designed to be a single line of mallets that covers the needs of an entire ensemble, especially indoor and outdoor marching ensembles.
These vibraphone mallets have a slightly oversized mallet head for a mallet of this graduation to provide a full, deep tone from the vibes. The synthetic rubber core is slightly larger than usual, hence the larger size (and improved durability!).
Rattan shafts provide the flexibility that's often required when playing vibraphone, as well as a weighty, full feel to every stroke.
This very hard model is good for passages which demand a biting, clear, cutting tone, like when a marimba section accompanies the battery during a drum break.
