Ludwig Masters Music Duettino Concertante by Ingolf Dahl

Duettino Concertante by Ingolf Dahl is a challenging duet for multi-percussion and flute written back in 1966. Dahl tried to bring the instruments as close together as possible - it's a very percussive flute part, and the percussion often mimics the flute's lines and quality of sound.

Both parts are very complex individually, and the challenge is bumped up considerably when both players have to play at the same time. There is often a lack of anything to latch onto, so both players must be rock-solid on rhythms.

Perform this piece on a recital if you want to stretch the mind of the audience, stretch the skills of yourself and a flautist, or play something historically important.
