Grover Pro John Tafoya Staccato Timpani Mallets

The John Tafoya series timpani mallets feature bamboo shafts that are slightly shorter and thinner (at 15" x 7/16") than the Grover Artist's Choice bamboo mallets. Bamboo is lightweight, hollow, and strong - a perfect natural timpani shaft. Grover uses a 10-step process to create a moisture seal and a custom finish, keeping the bamboo from drying out and splitting. The shafts are then hand-paired to ensure that they both feel and sound the same. The TMB-T5 model has a thin, hand-sewn felt cover - layered 'inverted' for better clarity - over a wooden core, providing a balanced articulate tone that lies between the TMB-T2 and the TMB-T3 mallets. Great for all-purpose playing and more articulate, fast passages.
