Agua de Beber by Antonio Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes is a classic Brazilian bossa nova, arranged nicely for a small percussion ensemble by Ralph Hicks. This piece is a great introduction to the wonderful world of latin music for a group of 7-12 players.
Some aspects of improvised music are hinted at through the music - vamping on chords, optional solos, as well as a part for the bass guitar. It will be a welcome change to the regular fare of the beginning percussion music. The piece comes with a full, bound score and a data CD that contains an audio recording and digital copies of each part.
