We've all heard Charles Owen's Chopsticks plunked out on a piano, but this version ups the ante considerably! Taking this rag back to its roots, Ralph Hicks has arranged it for solo xylophone with percussion ensemble (or optional marimba band) to give it new life!
This rag begins in traditional style, but it quickly leaves the 1920's behind to take you through a waltz, a rhumba, a tango, and even underneath Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2!
There's plenty of room for antics and moments of comedy, making this a welcome addition to any percussion concert with late high school/early college students.
