Tapspace Yurikago by Shinsaku Kusakawa arr. Fujii adapt. Zator

Yurikago is the Japanese word for "cradle" - a very fitting title for this tender piece written by Shinsaku Kusakawa. Rika Fujii arranged the original work as a marimba and sanukite duet, and Brian Zator has adapted it for keyboard percussion quartet.

Rewritten in 3/4 to convey a lilting motion, this lovely little tune demonstrates how warm and delicate percussion instruments can be. High school groups and young college players will be able to play this piece well, and professionals can add it to their 'nice gig music' collection.

Difficulty: Medium

Duration: 4:55

Instrumentation: Vibraphones (2), 4.6 Octave Marimba, 5.0 Octave Marimba*

Yurikago comes as a professionally bound folio with a CD-ROM containing individual parts and an audio recording.

*The 5.0 octave marimba part can be easily played on a 4.6 octave instrument with a few octave adjustments.
