Old Tyme Muster - Three Traditional Fife and Drum Tunes contains several medleys of tunes that date back to the 1800s, compiled and arranged by Jason Baker into mallet quintets with a snare drum soloist.
Reminiscent of the music played at "musters" by the fife and drum corps community during the summer, these pieces are an intriguing and historical addition to any concert program. The snare drum parts are not really soloistic - they serve as rhythmic backup most of the time.
