Tink by Alan Keown lives up to its name, designed to be played on tiny instruments with tiny implements. This gives the whole piece a light feel, but it never feels texturally empty.
There are moments that are clearly groove-oriented, but there are also moments which are rhythmically intricate and interwoven, and there are also sections which move away from this altogether for a style more inspired by contemporary composer Paul Lansky. The small setup makes this piece good for any percussion ensemble concert, offering a tasteful work which offers a challenge.
