Tapspace Curious Surroundings by Clif Walker

Curious Surroundings by Clif Walker is a keyboard-heavy percussion orchestra piece that is inspired by scenes and ghost stories from the North Carolina mountains. It's split into three sections: I. The Phantom Choir of Roan Mountain, II. The Brown Mountain Lights from Wiseman's View, and III. the Demon Dog of Valle Crucis.

On top of the eleven performers on stage, there are also 5 performers spread around the auditorium, creating an engrossing experience for the audience!

  • Accessories (mark tree, spoke, glass bowl, finger cymbals, triangle, vibraslap, temple blocks, 10 whistling tubes, slap stick, lion's roar, 5 shakers, varied small resonant metals)
  • * A low E marimba can be substituted with minimal alterations.
