Dreams From the Dark Forest by Brian Slawson is a four-movement percussion orchestra piece for 13 players, and offers a challenge to young or less experienced percussion ensembles. This piece provides a variety of musical textures and techniques that feel mature, but are still technically accessible to ensembles with less experience.
The third movement offers improvisation opportunities to the performers, helping them express themselves how they choose and practice communicating.
