Tapspace Solo Piano for Percussion by Christopher D. Walker

Solo Piano for Percussion by Christopher D. Walker is truly unique - it's possibly the only percussion solo written for grand piano (and nothing else). Percussionists who are looking to show off their dexterity, or just for something completely different, should take a look.

The piece is meant to reflect the nature of the sea (taking inspiration from Caitlin Ireland's poem El Mar), which is at times restful and quiet but can quickly change to become much more sinister and dangerous.

Players will use all sorts of alternative techniques, like using mallets to roll on the low notes or glissing across the strings with mallets and fingers. Technically this piece is only at a medium level of difficulty, but it will take some advanced musical maturity to make it effective.
