Domenico Scarlatti's Sonata in F Minor has been nicely arranged for solo marimba by Brian Slawson, giving marimbists a chance to perform this quietly reflective, haunting piece of music. If you wish to play something tried and true over centuries old, this is an excellent choice.
As is always the case when arranging keyboard music for the marimba, the challenge goes up significantly when you trade ten fingers for four mallets. A well-developed technique and the ability to be flexible are both necessary to give this piece its due.
