Tapspace A Second Look by Thomas R. Marceau

Thomas R. Marceau's A Second Look is short and flowing reflection on, as the composer says, "the subtle gifts of daily life". With a long, simple melody in mallet 4 floating above arpeggiated triplet patterns in the other three, Marceau recalls the great Romantic-era piano composers for a truly dramatic listening experience.

While not the most technically challenging piece, A Second Look requires a high level of expression from the performer, and as such, may be better suited for late-high school to early-college four-mallet players. Additionally, the "3 against 2" required between the melody and the accompaniment may present a real challenge to younger players.
