Joshua Garrett's Fiesta de Suenos which literally translates to "Party of Dreams" is a fun and grooving piece that takes the audience through the journey of one's own dream. This ensemble is scored for a full steel band as well as an extensive 'engine room' group that really gives this piece its groove and drive. The progression of this piece starts with a slow and mysterious beginning that depicts sleep, which then moves to a driving Afro-Cuban beat symbolizing the party.
The party section plays for awhile and then the introductory material returns, but this time in a half-time feel which opens up to a solo section and gives the ensemble the opportunity to showcase individual players. This is a fun piece for any steel band or percussion concert that will really get the audience excited.
